4.12.4 Collaboration Facts

The collaboration feature in Word lets users share a file with multiple users. The feature lets people comment on a document or spreadsheet. Users can comment on the shared file and all changes in the document can be tracked to increase accountability. Some collaboration tools include adding comments, deleting comments, comment navigation and the ability to collapse and expand the comments in a document. Another great advantage of this feature is that it allows you to track changes, and who made the changes. The collaboration feature is a great feature that can help everyone in school and in their place of work.

Track changes and comments are two of the cornerstones of collaboration ^_^

  2. I have grown to like this class because it has brought me an incomparable utility. This collaboration brings us many conveniences, especially when we have a deep learning of Word.

  3. This class opened up a whole new world for me. All of the help from Professor Wu to fellow classmates is awesome. Not to mention the guidance we get from the labs.

  4. The collaboration feature helped me in my English 102 course We got assigned a group and being the first one to take charge I made a power point document sharable and everyone was able to collaborate in real time.

  5. The feature I like best within collaborating documents is that you can review changes and either accept or reject them. I also like that you can compare two peoples changes and merge the documents into one and review the changes.

  6. That feature helps out when multiple people need to work on a project but is not available at the same time as well. You can even be across the world and still work on the same project together.

  8. Collaboration is still foreign to me, due to my inexperience when this function is used. I think to myself, is my proofreading not enough? Did Word really create a function that validates when I am wrong and or right? I guess I still need a little bit more information on how this function can truly be useful in more than one aspect.

  9. I am going to try using the collaboration feature for a work document in the near future! I am sharing it to myself so I can work on it at home. It should work about the same! :-)

  10. I can picture how this can be amazing for a group writing project like screen writers making episodes for Rick and Morty.

  11. Tracking changes and comments are used regularly in business settings, especially with people working from home, it makes it easier for multiple people to access and collaborate on documents and projects.

  12. I have little to no memory of using Word, but this post brought back a memory from my freshman year in high school when my English teacher had us do group projects and share the same document with each other.

  14. I have yet to have a reason to use collaboration. But it is great to have a shorter delay in ones work responses, for example when there is a group of 6 coworkers working on a sales presentation to share facts and edit them in real time instead of completing the presentation and sending it out then waiting for a reply.

  15. I can see how useful this would be in a workplace setting, I wish we had used tools like these back when I was in high school doing group projects .

  16. Word's review and editing tools are the greatest. I did not know the extent in which Microsoft has gone to make Word, and I'm sure its other programs, a user friendly program. I've opened some programs and whilst being distracted by Confusion, Doubt and Fear soundlessly crept up behind me and slapped me in the back of my head. Needless to say I was defeated.

  17. When you're attempting to acquire input from an instructor or college acquaintance, this function is quite beneficial.
